Goals of the Volunteer Resource Center...

Below is a list of just a few of the goals of the 
Volunteer Resource Center.

  • Assess the current volunteer situation in our community.
            How many volunteers are currently serving?
            How many hours are given in service each month?  year?
            How many organizations use volunteer service?
            How many volunteer hours are still needed by these organizations?
  • Establish a database of volunteer-served programs.
            What services do these organizations provide?
            In what capacity can volunteers serve?
            What is expected of the volunteer (time, schedule, etc)?
  • Host an annual Volunteer Round-Up.
            Create a public event that would show the need for volunteers.
            Give people a chance to sign up to serve.
            Provide organizations with an opportunity to reach the community.
  • Facilitate volunteer placement for emergency responses.
           
    Establish a plan for volunteer recruitment and referral before necessary.
           
    Work with established organizations to appropriately use volunteers.
  • Provide centralized volunteer recruitment and referral.
           
    Establish a dedicated phone number for interested volunteers.
            Establish a website program for interested volunteers.
            Refer volunteers to partner agencies.
  • Offer training to volunteer-served programs, such as:
            Volunteer recruitment
            Volunteer management
            Volunteer retention
            Board basics
  •  Promote the need for and importance of volunteers in our community!
